It just had a black screen, where the 'starting windows' progress bar appears....Stuffed in other words. Just like it said. So I booted off win2k CD, choose repair, but it couldn't be fixed. I re-installed win2k today, and decided to try SP2 again. This time it was a fresh install. And I was logged in as Admin.

I had a similar problem (without the black screen) during the autodetect of hardware. What I did to fix it was actually change the order of my PCI cards on my motherboard. I just thought of another thing. It could be the BIOS. See if there is an update to the BIOS or compatibilty problems with that specific board
